Lineage II Interlude
General tips — Lineage II Interlude
Basic mechanics worth knowing, verified against this chronicle's data.
Equipment grades by your level
Expertise by level: grade D at level 20, grade C at level 40, grade B at level 52, grade A at level 61, grade S at level 76. If you wear equipment of a grade higher than yours, you get a penalty; don't buy it ahead of time.
The skill Lucky
All characters start with Lucky: Prevents the Death Penalty while you are Level 9 or lower. Take the chance to risk it before you lose it.
How many soulshots each weapon uses
The most common amount per hit, according to the weapon pages: grade NG: 2 (65 of 121 weapons); grade D: 2 (78 of 140 weapons); grade C: 3 (183 of 329 weapons); grade B: 1 (164 of 171 weapons); grade A: 1 (175 of 193 weapons); grade S: 1 (57 of 57 weapons). Bows and some weapons use more: check the 'Soulshots' field on the item page. Always use shots of the same grade as your weapon.
Skill Spoil
Spoil marks the monster so it drops extra materials with Sweeper; do it before you kill it. Have it: Dwarven Fighter, Scavenger and Bounty Hunter. In-game description: Imbues a monster with magic that renders it susceptible to the Sweeper skill.
Skill Sweeper
Sweeper collects what was spoiled from the corpse: you have little time after the kill. Have it: Dwarven Fighter. In-game description: Used on the corpses of Spoiled monsters to obtain extra items.
Skill Crystallize
Crystallize converts equipment you don't use into crystals of its grade, which are useful for shots, recipes, and SA. Have it: Artisan and Warsmith. In-game description: Makes crystallization possible.
Skill Create Item
Create Item is the Dwarven crafting skill: each level unlocks recipes of one more grade. Have it: Dwarven Fighter and Artisan and Warsmith. In-game description: Level 1 items can be manufactured.
Skill Common Craft
Common Craft lets any race craft common items (shots, basic materials). Have it: Dark Fighter, Dark Mage, Dwarven Fighter, Elven Fighter and Elven Mage and Fighter. In-game description: Can read common recipe books.
Before a long session
Buy your shots, potions, and Scroll of Escape in the town with the lowest tax (see 'Trading'), check that your skills are up to date with the SP you have, and bring your equipment enchanted up to the safe max.
