This page explains what data we collect, why, and for how long. In short: we collect the minimum, we sell nothing to anyone, and we never store your IP address in the clear.
Data controller
Sanctum Corp, owner of L2SANCTUM. Contact: info@sanctum.net.
What we collect
If you leave a comment we store the name you type, your email if you choose to give one, the comment text, and a cryptographic hash of your IP address. The IP address itself is never stored: the hash exists only to limit abuse and bulk posting. Your email is never published or shown to other visitors. Separately, to know how many people visit the site, we record, without identifying you, the page viewed, the date, the country (worked out from your IP on our own server, without sending it to anyone) and a cryptographic hash of your IP. The IP itself is never stored, and no cookies are used for this.
What we use it for
To moderate and publish comments, to reply if you write to us, to block spam, and to keep visit statistics for the site. We do no profiling, we send no marketing based on this data, and we use it for nothing else.
Retention
Published comments are kept while the article remains online. Rejected comments and those marked as spam are deleted periodically. You can ask us to delete a comment of yours by writing to info@sanctum.net.
Third parties
The site runs on a hosting provider that processes data on our behalf. Articles are produced with the assistance of language models, but no visitor personal data is involved in that process: we send no comments, names, emails or IP addresses to that service. We load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to their servers.
Cookies
This site only uses technical cookies: a session cookie that protects the support and comment forms, and two entries in your browser's local storage that remember your choices. We use no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The details are in our cookie policy.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data by writing to info@sanctum.net. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in the European Union.
